JITTERBUG 1 – Beginning Level

This is Easy Swing for all ages. A fun and lively class loaded with music that will make you kick up your heels as you learn basic steps, turns, and leading/following techniques in this fun and lively class.

Hustle

This is NOT the 70's Hustle, but the latest dance to today's hot new music.

HUSTLE 1 - Beginning Level
This high energy dance for upbeat contemporary Pop & Disco music is making a big comeback across the U.S. and Canada! With a new & flowing style and easy to learn basics & variations, this dance (a companion dance to West Coast Swing) is a hit with all ages. Hustle has become popular at Swing Dances, Disco’s and even with Country Western dancers. Join the fun!

HUSTLE 2 - Beyond the Basics (Intermediate)
Keep movin’ to the beat with fun and stylish patterns to add to the Basics. Learn Snap Turns, Free Spins, Shadows, Figure 8’s, Double Wraps...& more! All Hustle 2 classes are held on a drop-in basis.


Jitterbug

JITTERBUG 1 – Beginning Level

LATIN FAVORITES 1 - Beginning Level
For new and experienced dancers. Learn the easiest of the Latin dances: Salsa, Rumba and Merengue with emphasis on lead, follow and Latin Motion.

For new and experienced dancers. Continue the spice of Latin dancing as you learn to Cha Cha and Rhumba with emphasis on lead, follow and Latin Motion.

Also known as California Two Step & Disco Two Step, this is ROMANTIC DANCING AT IT’S FINEST - for popular slower dance songs the bands and DJ’s play at Night Clubs, Discos, Country Clubs, Country Western Dance Halls, on Cruise Ships and at Weddings!. Learn patterns that stay in a small area for crowded dance floors plus patterns that glide across the floor when there’s room to travel, and how to blend the two for added versatility.


Salsa

"Hot & Spicy" Latin Dance: Salsa
Headed for Mexico or the Caribbean? Want to join the action at the many local hotspots that feature Latin Dance nights? Or, are you simply looking for something fun and different to do to enhance mid-week or weekend nights? This class fits the bill! Learn how to feel the Latin beat and move your body (torso, hips, hands & arms) to create authentic "Latin motion" while you practice easy leading and following techniques with fun-but-simple patterns. A great class for beginners! Couples and singles welcome.


Slow Dancing

Partner Dancing for Leaders and Followers
This is the very easiest of all partner dances to learn! Developed for classic and currently popular ballads, Slow Dancing is great for dance floors everywhere! From Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and Elvis to Backstreet Boys, Mariah Carey and many more. From small and crowded dance floors and large and spacious dance halls, this dance fits them all. Simple techniques for leading, following, finding the beat, and moving to the music, plus logical building blocks for patterns to get students out dancing comfortably right away!


West Coast Swing

WEST COAST SWING 1 – Beginning Level

This is a very popular, playful and interactive style of Swing. A full schedule of weekly West Coast Swing dance venues provides endless opportunities for practice and fun. This class provides a solid start with approximately 8 of the Basic patterns of West Coast Swing, plus the connections and simple partnering techniques that make your West Coast Swing feel good to your partner.

WEST COAST SWING 2 – Beginning / Intermediate

This is Part 2 of a solid foundation in West Coast Swing. Learn popular Tucks, Whips, basic Rolls and more. No two Level 2 classes are exactly the same, so you’ll want to take this class a couple of times to get all the Level 2 material and help it meld into muscle memory.

WEST COAST SWING 3 – Intermediate

This class is the next step for your West Coast Swing. Increase your dancing fun with this easy and logical progression from Level 1 & 2. Fun and simple pattern variations and partnering advancements, as well as pattern extensions and syncopated rhythm breaks will keep you intrigued and excited about this dance. No two Level 3 classes are exactly the same, so you’ll want to take a Level 3 series two or three times to get all the material and help it meld into muscle memory.

WEST COAST SWING 3+ (Beyond the Basics) – Intermediate Plus

Gain comfort and confidence to take onto the dance floor by adding enhanced styling, partnering connections, and pattern variations. Each "Beyond the Basics" series of classes differs from the last. For optimum growth at this stage of your dancing, plan to continue at this level for an extended period of time.


MUSIC INTERPRETATION

MUSIC INTERPRETATION – FUNDAMENTALS

Incorporating Music Interpretation into West Coast Swing has become a popular way to expand and enhance the interaction between leaders and followers and the music. This class covers the first two phases of development for Music Interpretation: "Musical Phrasing" (the foundation for all levels of music interpretation) and "Hitting the Breaks" is the next step in this process. This series of classes provides the knowledge, practical application, and practice time that will help you begin to add this exciting element to your West Coast Swing. Comfort with 6 & 8 Count Basics recommended.

MUSIC INTERPRETATION – ADVANCED

Explore and interpret past the fundamentals! Various instrumental and vocal highlights can create wonderful opportunities to add flash and interest to your dancing. Each series of this class focuses on one or two songs specific songs. A different section of instrumental and/or vocal highlights is targeted for each week of class, and various moves that match that week's highlights are taught and practiced.


Movement Technique

MOTION STUDY: The Dancer’s Tune-Up and the KEY to "Whole Body Dancing"

Social and competitive dancers across the nation are experiencing a rapid elevation in skill level by adding this one study to their regularly scheduled dance classes! Elements of movement and timing are broken down piece by piece, practiced individually and then incorporated into a jazz-like routine. Motion Study classes are designed to improve all social and competitive dances, including Ballroom, Swing, Latin, Night Club Two Step and Hustle. Motion Study classes are one of the most efficient and effective ways to improve balance, control, turning, and timing… and to put a feeling of "magic" into your dancing.

Pre-requisite: Comfort with Basics in one of the following dance categories: West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Ballroom, Latin, Country Western, Night Club Two Step, or Hustle.

STYLING & SYNCOPATIONS: Add style and character to West Coast Swing with fancy footwork, interesting body lines & poses, and playful syncopations & rhythm variations.
